XOOM Energy Canada, ULC Launches in Alberta

CHARLOTTE, NC – (June 14, 2016) - XOOM Energy, LLC, an energy retail company providing natural gas and electricity solutions to homes and businesses across the United States, has expanded its product offerings internationally with the launch of XOOM Energy Canada, ULC. With the addition of six utilities in Alberta, Canada, XOOM now services 80+ utility markets across North America. Residents and businesses in Alberta will be able choose between fixed and variable rate products, designed to fit their needs and their budget.

XOOM Energy’s expansion into Alberta marks the company’s first market outside the U.S. After being named the “Fastest Growing Private Energy Company in America” by Inc. 500 magazine, and bolstering one of the largest domestic service footprints in the energy retail market, global expansion was next on the horizon for XOOM. “Since our launch in 2011, XOOM has seen remarkable and rapid growth and it was in the natural progression of our business to expand our service area beyond the U.S, with our first international launch into Alberta, Canada” says Tom Ulry, Chief Executive Officer. “Expansion into Canada allows us to offer similar innovative products and plans within Alberta that have made XOOM one of the top energy retailer providers in the U.S.”

As part of the launch into Alberta, XOOM has donated over $12,000 to the Fort McMurray Red Cross to benefit those affected by the disastrous wildfires that spread throughout northern Alberta in May of 2016.
